I had a dream the first night in Santa Fe. A dream I can't stop thinking about. In my dream there was a big, big tree with no leaves. At the top of the tree there was a huge nest with an Owl in it. There was wind and the nest blew down, but it fell like a leaf would fall, so gently, and the owl stayed in the nest for the ride. When the nest reached the ground I could see it was actually a giant woven basket shaped like a boat with a round nest inside.
Inside the nest was the Owl, who was so much bigger than an owl actually is. This owl was the size of a 7-year old child. Inside the nest was also a baby alpaca, a bunny, and a cat. There might have been 2 bunnies or 2 cats, but I can't quite remember that detail. When I saw the baby alpaca, I knew it was Angel's baby. I went over and picked him up, knowing that by doing so, I was leaving the other animals as a sacrifice to the owl. I carried the baby alpaca and found Angel and put the baby next to her.
Then I was in my kitchen in my apartment, and I was holding my big mesh colander. There was something inside the colander, but I don't know/remember what. I picked up the colander, held it in front of my heart, then in front on my temple, then above my head, as an offering.
I was then back outside looking at the nest, and the baby alpaca was back in it. I again picked him up and carried him to Angel.
I'm not sure what this all is about, but the theme is clearly about offerings and sacrifice. I'm also really curious about the baby alpaca in the dream. When I had the farm, I always dreamed about the baby alpacas before they were born. I always got the gender right, but frequently got the color wrong. I'm not sure when Angel is due...May or June or July or September. I don't know.
Yesterday we drove back from Santa Fe. Drove first to Ojo Caliente, a place with natural hot mineral springs. And I soaked myself in iron springs and soda springs and iron/arsenic springs. And I slathered myself in mud from head to toe and baked in the sun, and then dipped some more. A lovely way to start the travel day back. The rest of the drive was un-eventful, and I got back home a little after 9pm. Today is moving day, so I'm off to go move!
